A DISCARDED cigarette in a wastebin was believed to be responsible for a fire at the Co-operative Funeral Service in Silver Street, Bury on Friday (April 20).
Station officer Pete Seddon said: "Luckily a locked door meant the fire was confined to an office. Even though the contents of it were totally destroyed the rest of the building, including nine flats above, suffered only smoke damage."
