THREE women, all in their 70s, had their handbags snatched this weekend.

A 71-year-old was targeted at 10.20am on Sunday (April 22) in Church Lane, Whitefield. The victim was thrown to the ground by the thief, who was white, aged around 20, and 5ft 8in tall.

Another woman, this time 76 years old, was also grabbed around the waist and thrown to the ground on Sunday afternoon in Clarks Hill at Prestwich.

Her attacker was white, in his late 20s, 5ft 11in tall, and thin, with short brown hair. He wore a blue fleece top and escaped in a white Renault Clio.

And on Friday (April 20), a 74-year-old woman was approached from behind by two Asian teenagers on Parkhills Road in Bury at 9.50pm. They grabbed her handbag before fleeing, but the pensioner was not harmed.
