A SPECIAL tribute show will take place tonight (Fri April 27) in memory of Greenmount rock and roll enthusiast Karl Hurley.

Wheelchair-bound Karl (39), who lived in Caernarvon Close, died last month. He had suffered from muscular astrophy.

He was a lifelong member of Bolton & Bury Rock and Roll Appreciation Society and travelled to musical events all over the country.

Many mourners at his funeral service at St Mary's Church, Hawkshaw, wore Teddy Boy-style drape suits.

Tonight, friends will celebrate the life of Karl at the rock and roll revival night at the Bradford Ward Labour Club, Bolton.

Featured will be BJ the DJ, Rockin' Ricky, Ricky Taylor and the Echoes plus several surprise artists. Entry fee is £5.

Proceeds will be donated to Karl's old schoo,the Lord Mayor of Treloar College, which specialises in educating disabled children.
