PADIHAM 0 - FORMBY 0
PADIHAM FC and North West Counties Football League Worthington Challenge Trophy competition finalists Formby battled out a 0-0 draw at the Arbories last night in a keenly contested affair that could have been won by either side.
Formby looked good on the break whereas Padiham relied on a much slower and more deliberated build-up that ensured they had more possession but not necessarily as many chances as their opponents.
Ian Pilkington had Padiham's best opportunity of the game when he volleyed wide with only the keeper to beat in the 61st minute. And Lee Chambers was unlucky to have what looked a perfectly good goal disallowed for offside 10 minutes later.
Formby's Peter Pringle, Mark Wilson and Paul Guy missed good opportunities for the visitors.
