AS nobody has heard publicly from Liberal Democrat MEP Chris Davies since the public backlash in your columns against his utterances, I thought you might appreciate an update.
He was last heard uttering the following statesman-like line in the European Parliament: "We don't want to open the floodgates to hordes of foreign ferrets."
Personally I find the prospect of being flooded with ferrets in berets, lederhosen and other foreign costumes quite appealing, however, the EU do not and have banned ferrets from holding passports.
Before the General Election I feel that the CRE should invite all parties to sign an anti-ferretism compact and cease this xenophobia towards ferrets. The ferret card should certainly not be played during the election campaign!

PS This is not a 'wind-up' (apart from the berets etc) and the EU have banned ferrets from holding pet passports
