TEAMS from across the Fylde Coast took part in the Foxhall Easter Tournament on April 14 and, in spite of strong winds and driving rain, showed off their football skills with the host club coming out on top.
Foxhall's Under 7s progressed through the group stages before meeting a strong Fleetwood Gym side in the quarter finals. Goals from Alex Fowler and Joe Wheeler ensured a passage through to the semi-finals where they met tournament favourites Medlock (Manchester).
After some great performances from Scott Tanser, Ryan Wilson, Joe Nicholls and Elliot Swallow, goalkeeper Matthew Urwin stole the show in a penalty shoot-out by saving three out of four penalties to book a place in the final against Hawarden (Cheshire).
Foxhall got off to a great start with Matthew Heys netting two goals in the first five minutes to trigger off touchline celebrations..
Foxhall Under 7s 'B' team, though failing to make the latter stages, gave a superb display all day, culminating in a 6-0 win in the final group game.
Foxhall FC is still looking for players to join with their Under Sevens teams. Boys aged seven or under before July 31, 2001, should ring Wayne Heys on 312095 or email: munchie.bfc@cableinet.co.uk
