COUNTING on success!
That's Radcliffe-based Trumeter which has won a coveted award from the British Safety Council.
The company, which manufactures electronic and mechanical counting and measuring equipment, was one of only about 1,000 winners from large and small enterprises all over the UK.
It's the second coveted accolade which the business has secured in recent weeks.
Only firms with below average accident rates are eligible to be considered for a British Safety Council accolade.
Winners must have lower than average accident rates, good safety policies and safety plans and commitment to health and safety at the highest board level.
Sir Neville Purvis, director general of the British Safety Council, said: "The National Safety Awards highlight organisations that reach the top levels of health and safety.
"They are a mark of proven and significant achievement in safety standards."
He added: "By making safety an important feature of everyday work practice, Trumeter is reducing accidents and ill health while improving productivity and profitability."
This is the second major award which the Milltown Street company has scooped in recent weeks.
Earlier, Trumeter won an influential North West NHS Challenge Award.
The company secured runner-up spot in the workplace category for a programme where health and safety is given high priority and staff can access training at all levels.
