A ST ANNES woman is retiring from the travel trade after nearly 40 years in the business.
Margaret Alty, 59, got a fond farewell from staff at Travelcare, St Annes Road West, last week and operations manager Stuart Marston presented her with a crystal model aircraft in recognition of her expertise in long haul flights.
Margaret started her career at Blacks World Travel in Preston in 1961, going on to work at Baxter Travel in Preston and Southport for 20 years, where she became a director. Married to Arthur, Margaret has three children and five grandchildren. Plans for retirement include touring in the couple's recently purchased motorhome and spending time at their apartment in Spain.
But customers can still see Margaret at the branch as she has volunteered to help out on promotional days.
