PAUL Terzis had to do something on Sunday that he's rarely had to do in his 12 months at Hilton Park - tear a strip off his side for a poor performance.

Terzis was livid as he watch the Centurions toss away a 22-0 half time lead and let Dewsbury off the hook.

He kept his side in the dressing rooms for 20 minutes after the game while he told them a few home truths.

"Defensively in second half we were atrocious and I wasn't too happy with it," revealed the Leigh coach.

"We had a meeting after the game about it and pledged to show in the future just how good a side we are. We let ourselves down in that second half. They only had 11 sets against us in the second half yet came up with four tries. While two of them off kicks it's a statistic which tells its own story.

"It wasn't a matter of us becoming complacent, it was a question of us failing to re-focus on the situation after half time. We normally stop sides going 40-50 metres against us but because we weren't focused, we allowed Dewsbury a whole lot of territory and got punished."

While Terzis was livid with his team's showing after the break, it was a contrast to how he felt at half time.

"I couldn't have been more pleased with our first half display. We were totally dominant, really outstanding. We planned to build pressure on them and really dominate them everywhere.

"It just goes to show that one day were going to hit a side and they won't know what's hit them. For probably 45 minutes we did that. I don't suppose too many coaches would be livid after a win against the Grand Final champions, but I am.

"Full credit to Dewsbury, they came back at us. They are still going to be there or thereabouts at the end of the season.

"One thing it does do is send a warning out to the other sides because we're going to get far, far better as the season goes on."
