A NIGHTCLUBBER found with ecstasy tablets did not think he was committing an offence -- because he only had two of them, a court heard.
Burnley magistrates were told how Mark Traill, 20, said to police: "Its only two tablets on a Friday night. What's wrong with that?"
Traill, of Wood Street, Hapton, admitted possessing ecstasy and was conditionally discharged for 12 months.
David Macro, prosecuting, said officers were called to The Works nightclub on Hammerton Street, Burnley, where doorstaff had detained three men.
He said the tablets were ecstasy and he had bought them earlier in a bar.
Lyn Slater, defending, said the tablets were intended as a "top-up," to drink.
Traill genuinely believed he was not committing an offence, because he had always thought to be guilty of possessing drugs, there had to be a substantial amount involved.
