A 21-year-old man has appeared before Burnley Magistrates after an alleged incident at a Padiham chip shop in the early hours of Saturday.
Adam John Kostilek, of Whitegate Close, Padiham, is charged with burglary with intent to steal at Eddie's Plaice, Moor Lane, Padiham.
Kostilek, formerly of Moor Lane, was bailed until May 23, on condition he lives at his home address, observes a curfew between 10pm and 8am, does not approach or contact chip shop owner Eddie Titley and does not go within 100 metres of Moor Lane, Padiham.
Mr Titley, who was said to have armed himself with starting pistol during the alleged incident, has been released on police bail until May 8.
Tom Snape, prosecuting, told the court that matter would be "given due consideration," by the Crown Prosecution Service.
