A CAMPAIGN to save a popular Lancaster bar has been started by concerned local residents. Fans of the Navigation Bar, situated on the canal towpath opposite the White Cross, want to persuade developers to let it continue trading and have organised a public meeting to discuss ways forward.
The developers Crother Homes, and representatives from the City Council have also been invited to the meeting at Lancaster's Gregson Centre.
One of the organisers, John Whitelegg, said: "The main thing is to save a really good example of a small local business that makes a huge contribution to tourism and heritage in the city. We want to ensure the Navigation stays open."
The meeting will be held on May 15 at 7.30pm.
