TWO Lancashire police officers accused of intending to pervert the course of justice have both made a brief appearance before Preston Crown Court.
Detective Inspector Neil Simpson, 39, from Garstang and Detective Constable Darrell Webster, 35, of Cockerham, were charged last month with the offence.
They appeared in the dock alongside a 29-year old-woman, Julie Slinger of Spring Sands Close, Fulwood and 37-year-old Thomas Newsham of Clifton Lane, Preston, are accused of possessing the drug cannabis with intent to supply.
Newsham is also charged with intending to pervert the course of justice.
Following a five-minute hearing Judge Edward Slinger adjourned the case for a plea and directions hearing on June 7.
All four defendants were remanded on unconditional bail.
