IAND, I'm sure, many other people were transported back in time reading Lillian Hargreaves' reminiscences of Corporation Park in Blackburn (Letters, April 23).
I have many childhood memories of the 1930s and 1940s -- Sunday afternoon walks with my parents along the Broad Walk, feeding the ducks and listening to the bands, while much of my adolescent leisure time was spent on the tennis courts in the early 1950s, believing myself to be the next 'Little Mo' (Maureen Connolly).
There was a little cafe beneath the tennis pavillion supervised by Mr Bolam, and one in the Rose Gardens.
With the money available to the council, I hope we will see Corporation Park restored to being the park we knew and loved.
MAUREEN McGARRY, Dukes Brow, Blackburn.
