A PUBLIC meeting will be held to discuss the controversial plans for Hoyle Park in Bury.

Local company Miller's Bakery wants to expand its operation and create new jobs by building on an overgrown strip of the park.

But, as reported by the Bury Times, some residents have vowed to fight the proposals, saying the land should be left as a public park.

Councillor Mike Connolly, Bury East area board chairman, said a public meeting was being arranged for later this month to discuss the plans.

Information displays will be put up around the area, at Bury library and Bury town hall.

Jason Crausby, area co-ordinator, said it was vital for people to make their views known before the area board's next meeting in June.
