A KIND-hearted daughter has passed up the chance of a trip of a lifetime to Australia to allow her parents to go instead!
Mrs Anne Dormer and husband, Frank, won the fantastic holiday in a prize draw run by the Mill Gate shopping centre in Bury.
But instead of going themselves, kind-hearted Anne has passed on the prize to her parents, Mr and Mrs Cecil and Isabelle Mitchell who live in Whitehaven,
Anne, of Holly Street, Summerseat, had to spend £20 or more in the Mill Gate to have her name entered into a prize draw.
She said: " I answered a tie-break question by saying I'd like to send my mum and dad to Australia for the holiday because I love them."
The trip includes free flights to and from Sydney and all expenses paid hotel accommodation for nine days. "When I told my mum and dad what I'd done, they were absolutely over the moon," said Anne.
"My dad is a toolmaker and is aged 63. He retires in June. He and mum will take the holiday in November."
She added: "My parents were ecstatic when I told them. They've never been to Australia before.
"My mother has a cousin over there, but I don't know if they'll be able to visit.
"I thought it would be nice to donate the holiday to mum and dad. Dad is retiring soon so I thought they'd love to go."
