DOZENS of fun-seekers made tracks to Leyland at the weekend for the annual Leyland Model Railway Club exhibition.
More than 600 train enthusiasts with a passion for trainspotting joined youngsters devoted to television's Thomas the Tank Engine for a display of some of the finest machines around.
More than 14 trade stands displayed a variety of scale models in the hall of St Andrew's Church, in Worden Lane, Leyland, while some enjoyed an outdoor steam train ride on a larger engine.
Preservation societies joined the gathering to demonstrate their fine machines and to offer the crowd the wisdom of their years of experience when it comes to electric locomotives.
Publicity officer Donald Smith said this year's turnout had been better than ever before. "We were very pleased with the turnout and delighted to have so many people visit the event," he said.
In September the club hopes to pull in the crowds for another fantastic exhibition -- bigger than Saturday's event.
