A BURY engineering company which has concluded an important deal in Poland is looking closer to home for new contracts.

And bosses of Elantic Engineering threw open their doors to existing and potential customers to highlight the work they are involved in.

Elantic, located in Webb Street, are designers, and manufacturers of equipment for a variety of industries, including the glass and paper sectors.

Commenting on the open day, sales engineer Mr Ray Brandwood said: "We showed our visitors around the premises, briefed them about what we do and fed and watered them.

"We hope that this will pay off in terms of recouping new business."

Elantic, which employs 60 people, recently signed a co-operation and representation agreement with PM (Paper Machinery) Poland, formerly a Beloit Centre of Excellence.

Now, the Bury company hopes the Polish partnership will give it a bigger foothold in the UK in terms of competing for contracts previously out of its reach.
