LABOUR'S man for Leigh, Andy Burnham, is 'setting up shop' in town.
Mr Burnham, who is Labour's candidate at the next general election, which is likely to be held next month, has opened a campaign office at number 10 Market Street in the Leigh town hall complex. The former civil service administrator and government minister's aide who was brought up in Culcheth has moved to live in Lowton with his wife, Frankie and their infant son, Jimmy. His agent Cllr Tom Sherratt told The Journal: "Andy will make a damn good Member of Parliament for Leigh. The constituency needs an up-front MP.
"The Market Street office is an off-the-street office easily accessible and open to the public."
