A NEW nursery and child care club could be set up at a Mosley Common school after a new head teacher took up her post.
Jill Brennan, aged 48, plans to introduce the two projects at St John's Primary School after spotting a gap in the market.
Mrs Brennan, who has three children and lives in Bolton, said: "I'm really proud to be appointed head of this school -- it is an excellent school.
"We are going to investigate the possibility of starting a nursery.
"We will also look at setting up a before and after school club to offer child care facilities for children with working parents. We think there is a need in the community for pre-school education and we are going to start a feasibility study working with the church."
The pre-school nursery would cater for children aged two-and-a-half upwards, she added.
Mrs Brennan was a deputy head at a primary school in Clayton-le-Woods before joining St John's.
She has previously worked for schools in Lancashire, Greater Manchester and South Yorkshire.
