WIGAN and Leigh College is to offer a range of workplace degree courses -- lasting just two years.
The courses -- including Human Resource Management and Network and Multi-Media Technology -- will be launched in September this year.
They are designed to provide the technical knowledge and skills students require in the workplace.
The Foundation Degree courses will also feature a large element of work experience placements to help guarantee students are ready for work after graduating.
All the courses will be accredited by Salford University and students will have the option of studying part time.
There will be no set entry requirements with the option of progressing onto the final year of an Honours Degree on completion.
A college spokesman said: "Foundation Degrees offer people the chance to study locally and still obtain a recognised qualification from a university.
"No one needs to feel that they may not have what it takes to do a degree."
For information telephone 0800 0735712. Those interested in studying part time should call Christine Horrocks on 01942 761 605.
