BUSWAY promoters won't get an easy ride, say opponents who aim to block their buses-only road plans from Leigh to Manchester.
"Now is the time to make a stand against the bully boys and strike a blow for freedom to enjoy the rural track and preserve it for our children," said Bus-way No-way co-ordinator Chris Maile.
"Plans have been strongly opposed every time but, for some reason, the planners find it hard to hear what the man in the street has to say, and have ignored pleas for sanity.
"Once again, the busway planners are on the move and people must take action to prevent this silly idea from becoming a reality."
The Bus-way No-way allegiance is gaining momentum as various protest groups devise their plan of action against what some have labelled a "silly idea".
Urging objectors to band together and "strike a blow for freedom", Mr Maile said: "The beautiful naturalised path is home to a wealth of birds and wildlife, all of which will be at risk should the busway become fact.
"Red Rose Forest wants to plant more trees and make woodland walks between Tyldesley and Higher Folds.
"This is wonderful news, but can a busway run through the middle?"
