CRAFTY schoolchildren are hoping their blitz on litter will earn them a tuck shop.
Pupils at Sacred Heart RC Primary School on St Silas Road, Blackburn, cleaned nearby Newbank Road and Lynwood Road.
But they hit headmaster Paul Heaton with a hopeful request for a sweets and crisps to be sold in school in return -- but so far he has refused. Mr Heaton said: "They asked if they cleaned up could they have a tuck shop in return. But I'm not so sure, it's a health thing.
"When the children actually saw the mess other people had left they were shocked. "
The clean-up was organised with the help of the Revidge Community Association.
