BACUP 0 - ATHERTON LR 2
BACUP Borough boss Brent Peters may give his youngsters a chance in next Thursday's Second Division Cup Final after his more experienced players failed to convince him last night.
Peters went for an older line-up against promotion-chasing Atherton LR -- Bacup's second game in two days -- and felt let down by some of his players.
Barry Massey scored twice for Atherton who could pip Nelson for the NWCL Division Two title if they win their remaining fixtures.
"The youngsters had scored eight goals in two games but I decided to go for more experience last night. But they lacked the work rate and lost their personal battles.
"I feel the youngsters may work harder on and off the ball in the cup final against Squires Gate."
