IN the Bury Times (April 24), an article on Bury FC Supporters Association's AGM stated that "Bury Me In White" is the fanzine of Mr Lee Devenport.
The magazine is actually made up of the contributions of many Bury fans (including myself), some of whose names appear inside the front cover.
Lee Devenport was a founder of the magazine and contributes regularly. On certain match days it is regularly sold to more than 450 supporters and is the unofficial voice of Bury fans for Bury fans.
In support of Lee Devenport, and with regard to the article, if we, as an enthusiastic band of Bury fans, can pull in more than 450 regular patrons, and the official supporters association can "lose" 700 members in three years, then there is something inherently wrong in the way the association portrays itself.
We, as concerned Bury fans, are quite rightly disturbed at this apathy towards the association, and would welcome any justifiable explanation for this turnaround in support. We need the support back!
S. FARNWORTH,
(for and on behalf
of all contributors
to Bury Me In White).
