ENVIRONMENTAL health officers in Blackburn with Darwen will be spreading a cleanliness message during National Food Safety Week which starts today.
The team will be visiting supermarkets and schools and their message will be that simple cleanliness is one of the best defences against diseases caused by harmful bacteria.
The importance of hand washing is one of the main themes and pupils at St Bede's RC School, Livesey Branch Road, and St Aidan's primary school, Norfolk Street, Mill Hill, will take part in a demonstration where special lights will highlight the bits they have missed.
There will also be demonstrations in Tesco's Hill Street store, Sainsbury's, Darwen, Morrison's and Asda.
