YOUNG dancers from across the North West gathered at Colne Municipal Hall on Saturday for the second part of the Luther Greenwood Memorial Festival.

The sound of tap-dancing could be heard as competitors dressed in brightly coloured costumes and sparkling with glitter and make-up put in some last-minute practice in the corridors.

More than 100 dancers took part over three days this weekend and last weekend.

Festival secretary Penelope Hall said: "It was another very successful festival, bringing together dancers from all over the region, who presented a high standard of dancing.

"I am especially pleased with the excellent results of our local newcomers."
