PUPILS at an East Lancashire school have proved they are well-versed in success.

When teacher Susan Wharton received news of a national poetry-writing competition she submitted 10 poems written by her pupils at Oakhill College, Whalley. And they were all chosen for publication in the 2001 Poetry Anthology.

"We do a great deal of poetry writing in English lessons and I asked pupils in each class in the senior department to submit a poem, " she said.
