THE larger-than-life Roly Polys were on hand to celebrate the launch of daily afternoon tea dances at the Tower Ballroom in Blackpool on Wednesday (June 27) -- and fundraisers from the Macmillan Windmill Appeal were the delighted recipients of the event's proceeds.

Among the 200 guests enjoying a dance to the music of the Blackpool Tower Big Band and the Wurlitzer organ were Macmillan appeals manager Karen Dyke and Mystique star Richard DeVere (pictured right).

And the Tower's own Mooky the clown and Roly Poly Mo Moreland (left) kept a watchful eye over the Blackpool-tower shaped cake specially made to celebrate the launch.

Elaine Fossett, deputy director of fundraising for the Macmillan Windmill Appeal, said: "It was an absolutely wonderful day, just fabulous. What other charity would ever be able to have an event on its behalf in Europe's most beautiful ballroom?
