LEDLEY KING will move from one footballing extreme to another tomorrow.

Having come through the Duncan Ferguson school of hard knocks with flying colours at Everton on Monday he now faces a very different test of his defensive nous against Blackburn's Matt Jansen.

Tricky, pacy and skilful, Jansen will lead Rovers' attack alongside a similarly elusive striker -- Italian Ciccio Grabbi.

Ledley has been outstanding in Spurs' first two fixtures and was named man of the match by Sky Sports in the 1-1 draw at Goodison Park.

He said: "I've played with Matt before for the Under-21s. He's a totally different player to Duncan Ferguson, very good with his feet and it will be another difficult test.

"He's got a great left foot and he's very dangerous so we'll be looking to cut off his supply.

"It will be tough. At the beginning of the season the promoted teams will be looking to get as many points as possible."

King will naturally take confidence from his display on Monday, not least after we held on with nine men for the last half-hour for the draw.

He added: "You're not going to get any tougher centre forwards to play against and it was a great experience for myself and Gary Doherty.

"It's just nice that it isn't like that every week - I don't think I would last the season!

"I feel I'm playing quite well and I'm enjoying my football at the moment. It's my first start to the season in the last few years and I'm looking to carry it on."
