REPORTS that one of the largest, most complex crop circles to appear in England had been discovered this week at a farm in Wiltshire, prompted me to investigate further.

I found a website called circlemakers and it makes fascinating reading if you are interested in the history of how it all started.

The site goes into the work of crop circle amateur scientist John Rand Capron, who first reported his investigations into circles found in a crop field near Guildford, Surrey in July 1880.

He goes into what he saw on a stormy day on Wednesday, July 21, 1880 in a wheat field that had been considerably knocked about and which, when viewed at a distance, appeared as large circular spots.

The site has a wealth of history and information about English crop circles.

There are also some detailed accounts of some weird experiences across the country over the years.
