COLNE Library has become the first library within the Lancashire County Library Service to offer the public the opportunity to become Unclassified borrowers.

Unclassified is a new venture being run by Branching Out, who are dedicated to promoting fiction in libraries throughout the country.

It will enable people in Colne to choose from a much bigger choice and wider variety of books.

County Councillor Niki Penney, cabinet member responsible for libraries, said: "The Unclassified experience is a completely different kind of reading experience -- bright, modern, escapist, realistic, funny, serious and free. With 1,000 new books, there is something for everyone and new titles will be added regularly. We're sure it will be very popular with the people of Colne."

Unclassified is also unmissable as the new display space in the centre of the library has state of the art display furniture and eye-catching graphics and is very different from conventional library arrangements.
