A NEW group for people who have had a heart attack or heart surgery and their carers will begin in Rossendale on September 5.
Until now patients and carers had to join a Heartbeat support group in Bury or Burnley. But from next month they will be able to attend one in Rawtenstall at the Oakenhead Resource Centre, Haslingden Old Road.
The group, formed in February when 27 people attended a meeting at Rossendale Hospital, is holding its first public meeting on September 5 (7.30pm), when anyone interested is welcome to attend.
