A DRUNKEN youth smashed his mother's window, then called the policewomen who arrested him "bitches," and shouted racist abuse.

Burnley Magistrates heard how Stephen Lord, 22, made a Nazi salute, told the officers Asians were scum and referred to the recent troubles in Burnley.

Lord, was conditionally bailed until 17 September for a pre-sentence report and was told by the bench all options were open.

The defendant, of Heathbourne Road, Stacksteads, admitted damage and racially aggravated threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour.

Elizabeth Reed, prosecuting, said around midnight on 29 June, Lord returned to his parents' home. It was obvious he had been drinking and he had a girlfriend with him.

A row followed, Lord became aggressive and threw a brick threw the double-glazed window of his parents' home. Police were alerted and when two female officers arrived, they were subjected to abuse. He was arrested, shouted offensive remarks about Asians, made a Nazi salute and demanded to be taken to Burnley so he could assault members of the ethnic community.

Mrs Reed said when Lord was later asked at the police station about his allegience to the "suicide squad", he said he had been battered by Asians and they were scum.

He made references to the recent troubles in Burnley.

Asked by officers about his remarks about the policewomen, he said he probably would have said he had never been locked up by bitches before.

Dylan Bradshaw, defending, said the argument started after Lord took an univited guest home and he was embarrassed at having to eject the girl.
