A NIGHT of frustration ended with two Colne players being sent off as John Lister's men saw their five-game unbeaten run come a rather unsavoury end in NWCL Division Two.

Central defender Richard Walton was dismissed after the final whistle for comments he made to a linesman.

Of more significance was the dismissal of his defensive partner Stuart Walters, that came after just 15 minutes for an alleged off the ball elbow spotted only by a linesman.

Colne, who were eager to avenge their 7-0 hammering against Chadderton last month, fell behind after 30 minutes.

But the 10 men hit back two minutes before the interval when George Craddock finished off a fine move started by Paul Files and Gavin Cooper.

Chadderton restored their lead on the hour mark when a poor defensive clearance was picked up by the visitors and the dangerous Chris Barlow took full advantage.

But battling Colne hit back again, with Craddock getting his second after Cooper's cross had been fumbled by the Chadderton keeper.

Unfortunately the hard work from the 10 men was finally undone after 80 minutes when a error by stand-in keeper Byron Entwistle -- in for the unavailable Ross Baxter -- allowed Barlow in for his second.

"It was like a Cup tie and our lads never gave up but there was a lot of frustration at the final whistle," said Colne chairman Dave Blacklock, who added that Walton later apologised to the official for his comments.
