PARENTS in the North get more involved with their children's education than their southern neighbours, according to new research. The nationwide survey gathered data from parents with children aged between seven and 11. It found that northern parents particularly play an active role in their children's education.

Psychologist Dr David Lewis told educational researchers Footee.net: "We talk a lot about gifted children, but this survey suggests that many parents, particularly in the northern region, are becoming equally gifted when it comes to ensuring school success."
