LEIGH RMI go into tonight's showdown with Third Division title-chasers Hull City in the knowledge that they will need to improve significantly to make the next round of the LDV Vans Trophy.

Steve Waywell was angered by what he believed to be a "lack of commitment" during Saturday's embarrassing FA Cup exit, and knows that his side need to be on their top form

Diabilical performance

"If I had 11 different players in the squad at the moment, I would pick them because the Worksop performance was diabolical. It will certainly be a changed starting line-up for the Hull game and the players that start will need to stand up and be counted. Every single player on that pitch was an embarrassment and we will have to improve."

RMI have a commendable record against higher league opposition but they will face a tough task if they are to overhaul the Boothferry Park side, who currently lie fourth in the Third Division.

The Railwaymen took Kevin Keegan's Fulham to an FA Cup replay in 1998 and put up a superb display to earn the respect of Second Division champions Millwall last season.

There will be no replays tonight though - the game will be settled tonight by golden goal or penalties should the game be tied.
