LR despite being without the injured Barry Massey, Steve Powell and Steve Strange matched Warrngton all the way.
Tight defending early on paid off in the 30th minute when Mark Jones headed in a Mark Fitton cross to give LR the half time lead. Torrential rain for the whole of the second half made the game a lottery with Warrington equalising in the 71st minute and LR denied a winner when the ball having beaten the keeper stuck in the mud just outside of the goal.
