TONY Blair gained thousands of votes on the strength of his convictions to ban fox hunting.

I trusted Mr Blair when he said his party would bring an end to this obscene bloodsport. Now, there's talk of ditching plans to outlaw fox hunting.

Instead, he's back pedalling, supposedly to make way for anti-terrorist laws. An anti-hunting bill has been passed in Scotland and I am sure they are just as concerned about terrorism.

Mr Blair has declared, rightly, an all out war on terrorism. That does not apparently apply to our four-legged friends, terrorised and killed for fun.
