I HAVE just paid what I am ashamed to say was a rare visit to Blackburn Museum, but what a treat was in store for me. I refer to the Tiplady's Blackburn exhibition.

The painting of the laying of the foundation stone of the Blackburn Cotton Exchange is magnificent and so interesting and the cameo description of the dignitaries present are fascinating.

I found the excerpts from Charles Tiplady's diaries most interesting and look forward to continuing my interest by reading the excellent publication of Tiplady's Blackburn.

My heartfelt congratulations to all responsible for the exhibition and the book. Your efforts are appreciated and I urge anyone who has not yet seen the results to pay a visit to the Blackburn museum before November 17 when the exhibition closes. It will be a pity of this jewel is to disappear into obscurity again.
