POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a burglary at a Leigh cash and carry.
Thieves struck Booker Cash and Carry in Leigh Road at 2am on Tuesday morning, stealing a large quantity of cigarettes.
It is thought the men entered the building by removing breeze blocks from an outer wall.
They escaped in an egistration Ford Mondeo, which was later found abandoned in Broom Avenue, Leigh.
The car was stolen on Friday from the Lowton area. Police are appealing for anyone who saw the car between the time it was stolen and the burglary to contact 0161 856 7253.
