WOULD someone tell me why, after so much money has been spent on modernising and enhancing Blackburn's shopping precinct, it is quickly becoming more of a bazaar?
Why, when there are so many empty shops in the precinct and Blackburn already has five and three day markets -- albeit much smaller than in years gone by -- should extra stalls be allowed to proliferate in the shopping centre?
The area on King William Street between Marks and Spencer and BHS is quickly becoming a parody of a seaside town with the roundabouts and food stalls.
There are many cafes and fast-food outlets already and, surely, if more were needed, they could be accommodated in the recently-closed shops.
What could be a very pleasant shopping experience is fast becoming an endurance test. Is it any wonder many people choose to shop out of town.
