MUSIC students from Nelson and Colne College have helped raise £480 for Hospice Care for Burnley and Pendle by organising a concert of local talent.
Several Pendle bands, including Woody, Transelement, Genere (formally Gecho), Jenny Outhwaite Trio and ILS (TBC), took part in the event at Colne Conservative Club on Friday.
It was organised by four local musicians, Alyss McBirney, Ailsa Nicholson, Martin South and Jason Nicholl, who call themselves the Original Vibes Organisation, as part of their studies on Nelson and Colne College's HND in Popular Music and Recording programme.
A CD of tracks by the local bands is also available from Burnley and Pendle Hospice outlets with all proceeds from the sale of the CD going to the Hospice.
Christina Cope, from Burnley and Pendle Hospice, said: "On behalf of everyone at the hospice I would like to thank the students for all their hard work in compiling the CD and the promotion of the band night which was a fantastic success and we are very grateful to receive the £480 raised."
