FANCY taking part in a riotous stage comedy -- with no sex involved, of course?

A read-through of the West End romp No Sex Please, We're British will take place on Sunday in the foyer of the Todmorden Hippodrome at 8pm.

The comic farce concerns a newly-married couple, Peter and Frances, who find themselves, due to an unfortunate mistake, inundated with pornographic material.

Senior bank officials, Peter's snobbish mother and a prim, respectable bank cashier become inextricably entangled in the boisterous events that follow.

The production, by Todmorden Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society, brings together an award-winning back stage and front stage team and will be directed by Andrew Rawlinson.

He said: "It will be great to be involved with the production again as 13 years ago, when the play was last staged in Todmorden, I played the leading character Peter. The play is just a great opportunity for people to come out and enjoy themselves watching other people enjoy themselves.

"All are welcome, even if they don't want a role in the production they can come along, have a drink and enjoy watching other people read the script. The setting is very informal and the bar will be open throughout."

Anyone interested can go along on Sunday or telephone Andrew on 07979 533769 for more details.
