DAMAGE estimated at £1,000 was caused to a Mercedes car after an arson attack in Whitefield on Thursday evening (April 18).
The offender is believed to have scaled a tall security fence to gain access to the car which was parked in Ringley Chase.
An attempt was made to try and break into the vehicle before the car was set on fire.
Firefighters from Whitefield were called out shortly before 10pm to deal with the blaze.
Police have launched an appeal for anyone who has information on the arson attack. They can be contacted on 856 8248.
