BLACKBURN Rovers' game with Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday week could still be moved back to May 8 following the latest round of talks between the two clubs.

Liverpool boss Gerard Houllier desperately wants the game to take place on the same night as Manchester United's potential title-decider with Arsenal at Old Trafford.

But Ewood officials will only agree to the move IF Rovers are safe as a result of this weekend's Premiership fixtures.

"If we were mathematically safe by Monday then we would be prepared to move it because of Liverpool's sheer persistence," said chief executive John Williams today.

"But I'm amazed that they're still so determined to change it at such a late stage in the day."

Rovers have already agreed to move the game once at Liverpool's request after it was originally scheduled for Sunday April 7 -- directly in between the Reds two Champions League quarter final ties with Bayer Leverkusen.

However, Ewood officials are reluctant to switch it again if it could have potential repercussions for their survival bid.

But that argument could be deemed redundant if either Ipswich fail to beat Manchester United or Rovers come back from Goodison with three points this weekend.
