A GLASS bottle was deliberately thrown from a car at a 43-year-old woman as she walked along Links Road in Blackpool with a friend.

The incident occurred at 9.20pm on April 18 when the couple were approached by an old-style Ford Orion.

As the car passed a passenger in the car threw a glass bottle at the lady, hitting her and causing severe injuries. The car then drove off.

The car passenger is described as a white male who was wearing a dark coat and white cap.

The vehicle is described as a burgundy or red old-style Ford Orion with the front offside headlight bulb broken and only one side illuminated.

A Blackpool shop assistant was threatened by a thief with a 12-inch knife.

The incident occurred at the Stop 'n' Shop, in Hawes Side Lane, at about 8.30pm on April 19 when a prospective customer threatened the assistant with a 12-inch black-handled knife and demanded that the till was opened.

The shop assistant was able to enter a secure area of the the shop and lock the door. The thief then attempted to open the till but failed and left the shop empty handed.

He is described as a white male between 40 and 45 years of age. He was between 5ft 8in and 5ft 9in tall with black hair greying at the side. He had approximately one day's growth of facial hair and was wearing a dark blue zip-up jacket, blue jeans and a cream top.

He was seen to drive off in a red vehicle.

A thief in the company of a young boy stole two bottles of Vodka from Morrisons supermarket in Squires Gate Lane.

The theft occurred at 12.55pm on April 19 when the thief was seen to get into a red Rover vehicle, number G507 TEC, and then speed off.

He was described as a 30-year-old white male with short dark hair and a small goatee beard. He was stockily built, 5ft 8in tall, and wearing a blue bubble jacket, blue jeans and white trainers. He was in the company of a young boy with a skin-head and aged about eight years old.
