MEMBERS of the police tactical support unit forced their way into a Blackburn house after a man who had attacked his brother refused to come out.
Blackburn magistrates heard Basharat Farid was found sitting on a sofa with a hammer at his feet but offered no resistance to the officers.
Farid, 28, of Shaw Street, Blackburn, admitted a breach of the peace and was bound over in £50 to keep the peace for 12 months.
Libby Reed, prosecuting, said Farid's brother did not want to make a complaint of assault but he was too scared to go into the house where his brother had locked himself.
