ON behalf of the St James Day Tripper committee, I express sincere thanks to everyone who supported our special train to the Spalding Flower Festival and Peterborough on May 4.
Partly as a result of the excellent article you published (LET, April 27), more than 500 passengers travelled with us on what proved to be an excellent day out.
A raffle held on the train raised £500, which will be donated to the Derian House Children's Hospice and we intend to make similar amounts available to the North West Air Ambulance, the East Lancashire Hospice and the Save the Children Fund.
Our next trip is scheduled for early November and details of all our activities are always available on our website at www.daytripper.org
