SEVEN Transco Lancashire League teams came through the first round of the Inter-League Club Challenge Trophy on Saturday.

East Lancs beat Ashton by five wickets, with Andy Clague scoring a half-century and the pro Con de Lange taking four wickets.

Holders Rishton came through as expected at Milnrow, securing a seven-wicket win.

Littleborough beat the Lancashire League champions Bacup by eight wickets.

Burnley beat Werneth by six wickets and Church beat Middleton by just five runs.

Enfield were the victors over Crompton, winning by five wickets, and Haslingden beat Stand by 17 runs.

Accrington tasted defeat at Oldham, losing by 75 runs, and Rawtenstall lost out to Radcliffe, even though both sides finished on 132 runs. Radcliffe went through having lost two less wickets.

Ramsbottom displayed 'some of the worst batting' against Heywood, according to coach Mick Everett, and lost by eight wickets.

Norden beat Todmorden by six wickets and Nelson beat Unsworth by 10 runs.

Lowerhouse are out after losing by five wickets to Walsden.

Rochdale, Colne and Royton were given byes to the second round.

The next round will be drawn at the tea break at Rochdale this Saturday.
